A friend of mine sent this to me and I just had to share it.  I think that it is incredible how amazing the mind is.  We are capable of doing so much, so fast, and understanding so many different things.  Take a look at the paragraph below, I bet you will be amazed....

Activate your ideas.... Today!

Over and over I hear how big companies are working hard to activate their corporate sponsorships.  It used to be that a company might just sponsor an event but now they are spending more and more (sometimes 2 to 3 times more then the actual sponsorship amount) to activate their investment.  A great example of this is with Cingular and their sponsorship of American Idol...  They don't just run commercials they are actually woven into the content of the show and viewers are asked to interact with the product to cast a vote. 

So, here is a thought.  Activate your own ideas in your own sphere of influence.  Make your ideas have arms and legs.  Take your initiative to the next level.

If all we do is talk about it, then we have only scratched the surface. We need to activate it.  Make it a reality.  I challenge you TODAY to think about an idea or initiative that is important, but for some reason has just stalled out. Brainstorm ways to make that idea into something big, something important, and something that will make it a real success.

Activating ideas is not just "buzzword" it should be a "mantra".

Calling all BLOGERS!!!!

Recently I have made some appearance changes to my blog, new colors, new headers, and I rearranged some of the additional information that is listed on the left or right side. 

Now I am wanting to add to some of the content that is available on the site.  I want to be able to provide  links to other websites and Blogs that are relevant to people that share an interest in Leadership, management, ideas, vision, technology, creative problem solving, business, etc...  I know you get the point.

Blogs are featured on CNN

CNN is now running a daily segment during it's Inside Politics show called Inside the blog.  While it is only a short 4 minute segment it is the first daily segment on any network or cable channel that actually is dedicated to reporting what is going on in the Blogosphere.

5 keys to Winning

Many people have their "keys" to winning or success.  But, how many of them can claim to be the best in the world at what they do!  Not just the best in modern day but the best of all time!!!  I do not think that anyone would argue that Lance Armstrong has certainly had a tremendous amount of success at his job, specifically in the last 6 years.  I recently read an article in Mens Journal that focused on Lance and his thoughts on how to win at everything. 

Lance Armstrong's 5 keys to winning:

1. Be Obsessed
2. Be Patient
3. Be Disciplined
4. Don't Be Selfish
5. Outwit Your Opponents

Whether you are a cyclist, an entrepreneur, a top level or middle level manager or anyone just trying to get ahead in the world, I think these are so good rules to live by.

For some time now I have wanted to change my banner.  I admit that when it comes to that sort of graphic design work I am not capable of even knowing where to start.  Thankfully there are people out there that know how to do this type of work and are willing ito help out.  The banner that is at the top of the page right now was created by Christopher Bailey who has a very cool blog called The Alchemy of soulful work.   Thanks Chris for building this for me I really do appreciate it.

Is ironic that just the other day I wrote about how the only constant is that there will always be change? Then today in the USA Today there is an article on how in some new automobiles (coming out this year) there will be the capability to store movies, music and games all on a hard drive.   Technology changes are happening faster and faster these days and the ability to know what is just a fad and what is going to make it is becoming more and more difficult.  One thing is for sure, entertainment / content on demand is an important issue and one that many companies are trying to figure out.

LiveStrong Fad or For Real

I think I was one of the first to jump on the wear yellow bandwagon.  My support of Lance Armstrong and his support of Cancer survivors runs very deep.  My Father is a Colon Cancer survivor and I watched him go through surgery, chemo, and radiation all in a very short period of time. Like most that are survivors of cancer my dad chooses not to talk much about the experience or the thoughts he must of had, but instead focus on the future and how much there is still to do.  I have great admiration for all those that are forced to stand up and fight one of the most horrible and unforgiving disease that we have ever seen.  I am also a fan of Lance Armstrong's.  I am a Triathlete (only as an amateur but, I love it) and I live in Plano (a suburb of Dallas) so being a fan of Lance Armstrong's is not that uncommon.  If you have not read his book then you should as it will give you a sense of hope and a ton of inspiration.  As Lance shows that you can accomplish almost anything if you are willing to work for it and of course keep a great attitude.

I hope the live strong bracelet campaign is not a fad and I hope it continues to raise a ton of money to support the survivors but, I see so many copy cats out there that I am concerned.  At first it seemed OK that certain groups were doing it and then it seemed OK that others continued to follow but, I am wondering if it has gotten so mass appeal that we might start forgetting what it was we were doing in the first place.  I am not saying that I think the copy cats were wrong to do what they did, I do not feel that way, but I am saying that it will be sad if all this comes to an end because it succeeded in becoming popular.

So I ask you.....  is the wear yellow campaign for real?  or is it a fad ?  Lets all hope it is for real!  if you have not purchased a yellow bracelet then go out and buy one, they are just $1.  if you have already purchased one then buy another one and give it to someone.
